Have you ever dreamt of working for the government of your country, becoming a journalist, a diplomat, a humanitarian officer or an international relations expert?

Whether you have just completed your A-levels or a BA degree, you’ve got your eye on a promotion, you’re in the market for a new job or you want to know how to gain the skills to step up to the next level, don’t miss out on new opportunities. Join NCIUL and our team of leading academics and experts at the Faculty of Politics and International Relations.

The degree structure we offer is flexible. It includes traditional face-to-face and distance learning teaching, offering a wide-range of specialist modules that allow you to tailor your degree to your future career goals while developing your individual interests.

Our BA (Hons) in International Politics is an exciting, interesting, and important programme that will help you to understand patterns of behaviour between the actors in the world – from states, to presidents, to corporations. It will also cover regionalism in world affairs, international law, issues in international political economy, and problems in global politics.

Our MA in International Relations will give you the chance to pursue your undergraduate subject at a more advanced level. We offer two distinct pathways: a traditional one in International Relations and one in International Conflict and Security

The first focuses on international law, development and poverty, power and change, economic aspects of globalisation and international security; the second will help you to apply theoretical knowledge to war and security studies, analysing the causes and dynamics of violent conflict, strategy, insurgencies and counterinsurgencies, human security, the international governance of conflicts and the spaces where these take place.

Both programmes will expose you to diverse perspectives and provide you with a uniquely global and comparative approach to the study of world affairs. Studying with us will help you understand frameworks of contemporary politics and relations, and develop highly sought-after skills such as cross-cultural awareness, critical thinking and analysis.

Employability is embedded within all our courses. After gaining a BA International Politics or an MA International Relations from NCIUL you will have a huge range of employment opportunities in the international public and private sectors. Our programmes are designed to form future embassy and foreign service officers, political aides, journalists, media analysts, policy advisors, market researchers, speech writers, charity officers, foreign aid workers, fundraisers, and scholars.

We also pride ourselves on our approachability and on our wide range of student support services.
